Warranty

DRAFT — review by client/legal before publishing. This page is a template, not legal advice. Review against your suppliers' warranty terms and current Australian Consumer Law before going live.

Every product we sell is genuine and backed by both the manufacturer's warranty (where applicable) and the consumer guarantees you're entitled to under Australian law.

Your guarantees under Australian Consumer Law

Under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), goods sold in Australia come with guarantees that cannot be excluded. In particular, goods must be:

If a product fails to meet a consumer guarantee, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund, and to compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss — depending on whether the failure is major or minor. These rights apply regardless of any manufacturer warranty.

Manufacturer warranties

Genuine Penrite products and any auto parts we supply may carry a manufacturer's warranty against defects. Manufacturer warranties are in addition to — not instead of — your ACL rights.

Where a product carries a manufacturer warranty, the details, duration and claims process are set by the manufacturer. We'll help you lodge a claim and can provide proof of purchase.

What warranties generally cover

What warranties generally do not cover

Note on oils: Engine oil is a formulated, consumable product. Selecting the correct viscosity and approval for your engine is essential — using the wrong oil can affect your vehicle's own warranty. When in doubt, ask us before you buy.

How to make a warranty claim

  1. Contact us at [Support email: ___] with your order number and a description of the issue (photos help).
  2. We'll assess the claim and, where relevant, liaise with the manufacturer.
  3. If approved, we'll arrange a repair, replacement or refund as appropriate under the ACL or the manufacturer's warranty.

Please keep your proof of purchase (order confirmation or tax invoice).
